COVID-19 RESPONSE

Considering our patrons’, clients’ and teams’ health is our top priority. Our hearts go out to all those who have been affected by this illness. We are all in this together as we feel extreme discomfort and sympathy that families, couples, wedding vendors and small businesses everywhere are experiencing the effects of this unprecedented situation. We will abide by all government and major health institution’s recommendations. We will continue to monitor current events and release updates accordingly. We are prepared to change our business practices, if needed, to maintain critical operations (e.g. identify alternative suppliers, prioritize existing customers, or temporarily suspend some of your operations).


ABBY GARDEN LLC COVID-19 RESPONSE

PREVENTION:

  • Employees, Guests and patrons in our shop are limited to a 3 person capacity in keeping with Maine regulations of 5 person per 1,000 square feet of shopping space occupancy limit.

  • We require everyone working in or visiting the shop to wear a face mask.

  • Upon entering, you will be asked to use hand sanitizer.

  • Anyone experiencing symptoms such as lethargy, coughing, fever, loss of taste or sense of smell, upper respiratory congestion will not be permitted entry.

  • All staff and patrons will be asked to maintain a social distance of 6 feet or more while inside our studio.

  • Customers are strongly encouraged to utilize our online services rather than physically shopping in our store.

  • All vessels will be sanitized before being packed for delivery.

  • No contact delivery is available to anyone who requests.

HEALTH & SAFETY:

  • Surfaces will be cleaned on a regular basis at multiple times throughout the day with soap and water before disinfecting them.

  • We will practice routine cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched objects and surfaces such as workstations, keyboards, telephones, handrails, and doorknobs.

  • Disinfectants will comply with products that meet EPA criteria for use against SARS-Cov-2.

  • We will provide disposable disinfecting wipes so that employees can wipe down commonly used surfaces (e.g., doorknobs, keyboards, remote controls, desks, other work tools and equipment) before each use.

  • We will store and use disinfectants in a responsible and appropriate manner according to the label.

  • We will provide tissues and no-touch trash cans.

  • All staff will be required to wash their hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or to use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.

    • Before and after work shifts

    • Before and after work breaks

    • After blowing their nose, coughing, or sneezing

    • After using the restroom

    • Before eating or preparing food

    • After putting on, touching, or removing cloth face coverings

  • We will offer employees incentives to use forms of transportation that minimize close contact with others (e.g., biking, walking, driving or riding by car either alone or with household members).

  • We will ask employees to follow the CDC guidance on how to protect yourself when using transportation.

  • Employees will be required to stay home if they are experiencing symptoms or to inform management if they have a sick family member at home with COVID-19.

  • Employees will be asked to avoid touching their eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Employees will be required to cover their mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, or use the inside of their elbow. Used tissues will be discarded into no-touch trash cans and employee will be require to immediately wash hands.

  • All staff will avoid using other employees’ phones, desks, offices, or other work tools and equipment, when possible. They will be cleaned and disinfected before and after use.

  • We will increase physical space between employees at the worksite by modifying the workspace.

  • Employees will be required to sanitize hands before and after each delivery.

  • All staff will be required to wear a face mask and social distance during all wedding and event deliveries/setups.

  • We will ensure ventilation systems operate properly and provide acceptable indoor air quality for the current occupancy level for each space. Filters will be checked regularly to ensure they are within service life and appropriately installed. Systems will run longer hours, 24/7 if possible, to enhance air exchanges in the building space.

EDUCATION:

  • We will encourage employees to follow any new policies or procedures related to illness, cleaning and disinfecting, and work meetings and travel

  • We will communicate supportive workplace polices clearly, frequently, and via multiple methods with all staff members.

  • We will train staff on how implementing any new policies to reduce the spread of COVID-19 may affect existing health and safety practices.

  • When not working, employees will be advised to practice social distancing by avoiding large gatherings and maintaining distance (at least 6 feet) from others when possible.

  • We are dedicated to talking with business partners about our response efforts. We will share best practices with other businesses in our community (especially those in our supply chain), chambers of commerce, and associations to improve community response efforts.
